We were all members of a sketch group at NYU called Hammerkatz.

Where did you guys study?

We studied filmmaking and dramatic writing at Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and we studied sketch/improv comedy at The Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre in New York City. Meggie went to Fordham Lincoln Center.

What do you guys shoot on?

We shoot on Sony HDV.

Where’d the name “DERRICK” come from?

All of our names start with D and we thought it be funny to add another D name. Forgive us. We were young.

Do you guys perform live?

We do live sketch and improv shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, as well as other comedy venues around New York.

Are your sketches improvised?

No. All of our sketches are thoroughly scripted before shooting them. We may improvise some lines on set, but all sketches were written down at some point.
